A cosmic journey with Pink Floyd at the Santiago Planetarium
August 2022
When I found out about the "Pink Floyd for the Universe" event at the Santiago Planetarium, I knew I had to live that experience. The idea of immersing myself in the music of my favorite band while contemplating the wonders of the cosmos was irresistible.
The wait and the moment of truth
The days leading up to the event were a mix of excitement and nerves. Would it live up to my expectations? Would the experience be as magical as you imagined? With a mixture of excitement and fear, I arrived at the planetarium. The atmosphere was electric, full of Pink Floyd fans and astronomy enthusiasts.
Upon entering the dome, I was amazed by the immensity of the space and the quality of the projection. The reclining seats invited relaxation, and the enveloping darkness created the perfect atmosphere for immersion.
A sensory journey
Pink Floyd's music began to play, enveloping us in a sea of sounds and emotions. At the same time, the dome was filled with impressive images: colorful nebulae, distant galaxies, mysterious planets and bright stars. The synchronization between music and images was perfect, creating a unique multi-sensory experience.
I felt like I was floating in space, traveling through wormholes and exploring unknown planets. Each Pink Floyd song evoked a different image in my mind, and the visual projection made it tangible.
Technology at the service of art
The Carl Zeiss VI projector was the undisputed star of the night. Its sharp, detailed images, combined with the perfect acoustics of the dome, created an unforgettable visual and auditory experience. The feeling of immersion was so real that, at some points, I forgot I was sitting in a room.
An indelible memory
When the lights came on and the music faded, I felt like I had had an out-of-this-world experience. The combination of Pink Floyd's music and the beauty of the universe had created an indelible memory in my memory.
Beyond Pink Floyd
This experience opened the doors to a world of possibilities for me. The planetarium offers a wide variety of programs and activities for all ages, from educational screenings to astronomical observations. I can't wait to go back and explore the universe further.
If you are a lover of music, astronomy or simply looking for a unique experience, I highly recommend that you visit the Santiago Planetarium.
