Facial Paralysis
March 2024
In the world of art, the expression of emotions is a universal language. Artists, through their works, have the ability to transmit deep and complex feelings that move the viewer. On this occasion, I want to present you a digital illustration that addresses a topic that was of great sensitivity to me.
Facial paralysis is a condition that affects the ability to move the muscles of the face. This condition, in addition to the physical challenges it details, can have a significant impact on the self-esteem and social relationships of those who suffer from it.
My digital illustration seeks to capture the essence of this experience. Through a selected color palette and composition, we seek to convey the emotions that can accompany a person living with facial paralysis: frustration, sadness and anger.
Items:
- Facial expression: Facial expression is the central element of the work. Through it, we seek to convey the feeling of helplessness and frustration that can arise from not being able to control the facial muscles.
- Colors: The color palette used plays a fundamental role in creating the atmosphere of the work. Cool, dark tones can convey feelings of sadness and loneliness, while touches of warm color can represent inner anger about this condition.
- Details: Every detail of the illustration, from the direction of gaze to the wrinkles in the skin, has been carefully worked out to create an image representative of its sensation.
