Have you ever rescued an animal and become its most dedicated caregiver? This is the story of Jerry, a red-eared slider that I found in a pretty precarious situation.

A new beginning

It all started when I visited a relative and found Jerry living in a neglected aquarium. Moved by compassion, I decided to take him home and give him a better life. What started as an act of kindness became an exciting adventure in the semi-aquatic world.

Creating a perfect home

From the beginning, I set out to create the ideal habitat for Jerry. Through research and experimentation, I designed and built several aquaterrariums, each with progressive improvements. From the importance of UVB light to creating a perfect dry area for sunbathing, I learned everything I needed to ensure the well-being of my new pet.

An unexpected companion

Over time, Jerry found a companion: Matilda. However, we soon discovered that Matilda was not who we thought and that her presence caused some unexpected challenges.

A home in constant evolution

Throughout this adventure, I have learned a lot about turtle behavior, the importance of an enriched environment, and the satisfaction of creating a personalized home for my pets.

Today its habitat is outside, but controlled by exterior and interior heaters.
