Eve and Adam: A Rebirth Through Graphite
June 2022
On this occasion, I delve into the depths of mythology to introduce you to "Eve and Adam." This illustration, made entirely with graphite pencil, seeks to capture from my perspective the essence of one of the oldest stories.
The choice of graphite
Graphite, with its tonal versatility and ability to create textures, was the perfect tool to bring this work to life. The softness of the lines and the depth of the shadows allowed me to convey the emotions and complexity of the characters.
The composition
The composition of the work focuses on the interaction between Eve and Adam upon finding the fruit, from my point of view. The use of "pointillism" for light and shadow creates an atmosphere of transformation.
The symbology
Each element of the illustration has a symbolic meaning and are different references to the biblical story, more to the human condition.
