Echinopsis Oxygona: A Spring Surprise

June 2022

Echinopsis Oxygona: A Spring Surprise

I clearly remember that first day of spring in 2016. As I left the house to start my workday, my eyes fell on my cacti, as they did every morning. However, on this occasion, something had changed. Between the thorns of my Echinopsis Oxygona, lay a flower of unparalleled beauty. An explosion of pale color that left me speechless.

The flower of a day: an ephemeral spectacle

I was completely unaware that my cactus was capable of producing such a spectacular flower. And not only that, but I also discovered that the beauty of this flower was as ephemeral as it was intense. According to my subsequent research, the flower of this species of cactus usually opens at dawn and withers at dusk, offering a unique spectacle that lasts just a day.

The magic of the unexpected

It was a real stroke of luck to have witnessed this natural phenomenon. The combination of chance and beauty made me reflect on the importance of appreciating the small details in life, those that often go unnoticed.

A reminder of nature

This experience reminded me of nature's ability to surprise and excite us. Despite being a plant that requires little care, my Echinopsis Oxygona gave me a moment of great beauty and satisfaction.

Thanks for reading.
